Nitro engines are fairly simple engines to use.  They just require fuel, air, and glow to be able to at least start up and run.  If you have a problem with your nitro engine starting, here are a few things to check:

-Glow.  Be sure that your glow ignitor is charged and your glow plug is in good condition.  An easy way to check would be to remove the glow plug from the engine and attach your glow ignitor to it.  Be sure that your glow plug will stay lit for 10+ seconds.  If your ignitor is dead, it will only light the glow plug up for a few seconds before fizzling out.

-Fuel (too much).  If your pull start gets really hard to pull when you're trying to start the engine, it's most likely because your engine has too much fuel.  Usually this happens when you're not getting any glow from the glow plug.  To fix this, remove the glow plug, put a rag over the top of the engine, and flip the vehicle over.  Now, pull the pull start at least 10 times to pump the excess fuel out of the engine and onto the rag.  You can now flip the vehicle back over and reinstall the glow plug.

-Fuel (not enough).  If you notice that there is not a solid stream of fuel filling the fuel line between the fuel tank and the carburetor, then your engine is not getting enough fuel.  First, check to make sure you still have a 1mm gap when your carburetor is in the fully closed position.  You can check this by removing your air filter and looking down in the throat of the carburetor.  Adjust the idle screw as necessary.

You can also force fuel to the carburetor by using your finger to plug the exhaust pipe stinger while pulling the pull start.  Once you see fuel make its way from the fuel tank to the carburetor, remove your finger from the pipe and continue to start as normal.
